What is the Kick-Boxing?


Origin: Japan.

In the middle of the Sixties, the Japanese Kurozaki, student of Karate Kyokushinkaï, travels to Thailandia and discovers the Muay-Thaï.

On his return to Japan, he decides to mix his Karate techniques with the Thaï-Boxing techniques removing the elbow and knee blows, borning a new contact sport denominated Kick-Boxing.

The most famous champions of Kick-Boxing are Benni Urquidez, Rob Kaman, Dennis Alexio and Ernesto Hoost.

Rules: The punches and kicks are authorized over the waist, so the slides and low-kicks are not allowed.

In the amateur category there are three-round fight, whereas in the professional category there are five-round fight. There is one minute between rounds like half time.

Clothing: Shorts, boxing gloves, buccal, box and boxing boots (optional in professional category).
